Safe Number Safe Call Instructions
Start and Testing your Safe Number
When your personal number is set up it will be ready to go and you don’t need to do anything to use it straight away (other than tell people the number!).
When you get a call from your Safe Number, you will hear a brief message saying "Safe Number Call" before the caller is transferred. That way, you can tell the call apart from calls direct to your landline or mobile number.
IMPORTANT!!

If you decide to test by calling from your mobile, or other number your Safe Number can divert to, you won’t hear the same as an external caller.

The Safe Number server knows it’s you calling and gives you a menu of options. If you want to hear what a normal caller hears, call from another phone, or get a friend to call your Safe Number. |
* 9 : Block Nuisance Callers
Pressing the * Key during a call and the caller will be placed on hold (they will hear music and won’t be able to hear you). You can then press * again to return to the caller or press 9 to block their calling number. Even if they call back straight away, they won’t get through.
You can also block a number by dialling your own Safe Number, selecting 4 from the menu, and typing in the number to block.
